Title: Waka
Author: annakas
Fandom: My Boss My Hero (Japanese drama)
Pairing: main Mikio/Kazuya (yes you read it right. This is not a typo), hinted Makio/Kazuya, Makio/Sakurakouji & Makio/Umemura.
Rating: R over all (this part still PG)
Notes: Post-series, Kazu centric. Not betaed so if you see any glaring mistakes holler and I'll fix them. This will be very short fic. Basically as soon as I write a part I'll post I'll make the big fix after finishing the whole thing. Will be written is spurts and dribbles. Waka means boss/master in Japanese and Aniki means older brother. The later one could be taken as a show of respect and/or term of endearment.
Part 1 can be found here
School sucked Kazu was sure of it and going back had just reminded him why he hadn’t bothered to continue his studies after the eleventh grade in the first place and why he had been a member and later a leader of the Saitama’s Gren gang. The girls constantly chattered and moved only in droves, not to mention weren’t legal. Not that he particularly cared. And the boys were all busy in doing the macho posturing to impress said girls or gang up on some unsuspecting geeks or outsiders. The boys weren’t legal either. Again Kazu didn’t really care because he had eyes only for his Aniki.
For some reason the girls seemed to love him and a couple of times he even heard the words bishonen and shounen-ai whispered when the girls thought he was out of earshot. He didn’t understand it how the girls knew he preferred men, he hadn’t told it to anyone in his life. And if his old gang members knew none of them mentioned it to him. Kazu doubted he would have been the leader or even a member if they knew.
The boys in school on the other hand hated him with passion. His delicate looks, love for crafts and unwillingness to keep his head low and mouth shut, not to mention the popularity among the girls infuriated them like the colour red to a bull.
So the couple of times they tried to gang up on him Kazu had never been more grateful for his rebellious teenage years. The fact that he had been a leader of a biker gang and later for the last two years trained by the yakuza didn’t hurt his situation at all. Because as soon as they saw he could kick some serious ass (dirty fighting at its finest) the tries for bashing his head in stopped to be replaced with just chilly attitudes and general tries for ignoring him. His beloved Aniki Makio Tornado was one fierce and brutal trainer. Again the girls on the other hand loved his skill in fighting when it came out just why five of his classmates had some major bruises and broken noses.
The trip to the principal’s office that resulted from the fight wasn’t a nice one. A hour long lecture about solving ones differences with words and being friends would be so much better than rivals was pure hell. Kazu had problems with keeping a straight face. His superiors from Kanto Eigekai weren’t amused at all that he caused so much trouble. Especially when they had to send Kuroi to his school to play his father and explain the harsh behaviour of his “son”.
The disappointed look Aniki gave him was the worst though. It broke Kazu’s heart and made him wish that he had just let the five losers beat the shit out of him, because anything would be better than letting his Aniki down. And hadn’t Aniki himself let those punks from his old class gang up on him several times? Kazu still had the urge to go after them and show them what real terror meant. That brief interlude in the school cafeteria was not enough to instil real respect that should always been shown to his beloved Aniki. Only Makio’s friendship with them stopped Kazu for acting on the impulse.
Still Kazu hated school and being back again between those walls felt more and more like prison. It brought back memories from his previous life he really didn’t want to contemplate. Worst though was the fact that going to school swallowed up most of his time that he previously had spent doing things for his beloved Aniki. No more ironing Aniki’s shirts and pants, no more needlework to make his stuff beautiful, no more cooking and making the puddings. Kazu really missed making the puddings because every time he got a smile in gratitude and blissful closing of Aniki’s eyes, he really felt like the king of the world. Aniki had a really beautiful smile.
The couple of times Kazu had sneaked in to the kitchen so that he could surprise his beloved Makio with Kazu’s Special Pudding Kuroi had been there like a bloodhound and banished him to never return or to be more specific not to return until the time he had graduated high school. When Kazu pointed out that their master would get cranky without his dose of pudding a day and Kazu was the only one who knew haw to make pudding fit to Aniki’ taste buds Kuroi had patted him on his back and said:
“Sorry kid. Waka ordered it himself. You have to concentrate on school and taking care of his needs takes away from your time meant for homework. Don’t worry about Waka. We have ordered him the Saint Agnes puddings he so loves. It was not easy to track the maker down but we did it and now Waka can have six cups of it a day.”
Kazu was crushed. Oh how he hated that peddler of a pudding maker. His puddings had been Waka’s favourites until the fateful day Makio went to St Agnes and tasted that man’s work. Aniki didn’t need him anymore. Taking care of his beloved filled some inner need Kazu had. He didn’t understand it himself but Kazu just had to take care of someone he loved. He needed to feel needed. And now he wasn’t anymore. He didn’t know what to do the only thing he was sure of was that he didn’t feel content anymore. Like some important part of him was neglected that had been blooming before. Kazu didn’t like that feeling.
Always an eternal optimist Kazu tried to look things from a positive perspective. Kazu finishing high school was his Waka’s wish and order for him. So he would make his beloved Aniki happy if he did well in there. And they still would have their study sessions together. Kazu couldn’t wait for their first serious one on one cramming. With that pleasant thought Kazu hummed in contentment.
